If the weather forecasters are right, we may have a new landscape around here by this time tomorrow. I sure hate to get up at 4 o'clock in the morning but they say that's when things will really start. Tornadoes are very complex things and require several events to occur at once. They also are usually not too wide but they devastate a narrow band as they go. The trick is to not be in that band. Obviously we can't move around fast enough to get out of the path so we have to find shelter where we are. The best advice seems to be to put as many walls between you and the outside as you can. A flashlight and a portable weather radio are probably your best friends but your ears will tell you when the tornado is getting really close. That's when to get in the safe place you have selected and cover yourself with everything you can find. GOOD LUCK.
